Poisonous Plants Guide
This is a list of plants containing poisonous parts that pose a serious risk of illness, injury, or death to humans or animals.
Note: This does not represent a complete list of all poisonous plants. Please assume every plant is poisonous unless you know different.
Aconitum - (Aconite, wolfsbane, monkshood) (Aconitum napellus) The poison is concentrated in the unripe seed pods and roots, but all parts are poisonous. Causes digestive upset, nervous excitement. The juice in plant parts is often fatal.

Aloe Vera - Good for the skin although can cause diarrhoea if ingested.

Amaryllis - Bulbs poisonous.

Anemones (Anemone species)

Angels' trumpets (Brugmansia species) - Can cause nausea and vomiting if eaten.

Apple seeds/ pips - The plant is cyanogenic.

Aquilegia

Atropa belladonna - (belladonna or deadly nightshade) - Extremely toxic, with hallucinogenic properties.

Autumn Crocuses (Colchicum species) aka Meadow Saffron - The bulbs are highly poisonous.

Azalea - Can cause nausea, vomiting, depression, difficulty breathing and coma if eaten.

Peach - Both the stone and leaf contain cyanide

Rhubarb (Rheum) - Leaf blades, but not petioles, contain oxalic acid salts, causing kidney disorders, convulsions, coma. Rarely fatal.

Tomatoes - Foliage and vines contain alkaloid poisons which cause digestive upset.

Vetch

Wild Garlic (Allium ursinum) aka Ramsons

Wisteria

Wood Anemone

Woody Nightshade

Yellow Flag

Yew (Taxus baccata) All parts of the plant, except for the fleshy red bit of the fruit, contain taxane alkaloids. The seeds are especially poisonous and are quickly fatal when ingested.
