Chusan Palm - Trachycarpus Fortunei Chusan Palm - Trachycarpus Fortunei
The Windmill palm is one of the most cold hardy palms available for the UK climate.
A single-stemmed evergreen palm with wonderful, fan-shaped, dark green leaves up to 75cm long. This handsome Chusan palm makes an excellent specimen plant for sunny exotic garden or courtyard. Although it's one of the most reliably hardy palms it's important to chose a sheltered spot and protect young specimens grown in cold areas with a warm, winter wrap.

Cordyline Australis - Torbay Palm Torbay Palm, Cabbage Palm - Cordyline Australis
The cordyline has been used in the UK for many years and large specimen plants can often be seen in peoples gardens and parks.
This palm-like tree has arching, lance shaped, light green leaves, retained throughout the year. An ideal specimen plant for a sunny, protected border or patio, in frost-prone areas protect young plants from frost by tying up the leaves around the crown. Perfect for the exotic garden, it is also faster growing than the coloured foliage varieties.

Jelly palm / Pindo palm - Butia capitata
One to try if you have time to lavish a bit of care. If you have a very sunny bright spot, sheltered from the wind and protected from frosts, you will be rewarded by a delightful blue/green palm. Native to South America.

Canary Island Date Palm - 'Phoenix canariensis' Canary Island Date Palm - Phoenix Canariensis
Slender, mid- to deep green leaflets on a stout, columnar trunk and clusters of cream or yellow summer flowers. This medium-sized spiky palm prefers a sunny site with protection against the fierce midday sun.
An excellent focal point for an exotic or Mediterranean-style garden, in frost-prone areas it's best grown as a temporary summer focal-point but must be moved indoors in autumn.

Chamaerops Humilis - European Fan Palm
This well-known palm is one of the few palm varieties that can grow on the European continent. A perfect subject for a spacious tub. Withstands temperatures of minus 13-15șC.
Chamaerops Humilis - European Fan Palm
This particular fan palm is native to Europe and as a result is hardier than many other varieties. It is wind resistant and can survive temperatures as low as -12C. Not only is it incredibly hardy but it is has extremely attractive foliage, evergreen, fan-shaped leaves are sporadically punctuated with yellow flowers during the summer.

Chamaerops humilis - the European or Mediterranean Fan Palm - is a versatile and compact palm, an exotic and strong growing architectural tree with large, bright green and multi-stemmed fan-shaped leaves. It looks stunning in a large container on a patio, terrace or balcony setting and is an absolute must for a tropical or Mediterranean themed garden.

Mexican Fan Palm - Washingtonia robusta
Washingtonia is a striking Mexican fan palm with beautiful fan shaped foliage. A fabulous tall palm in its natural habitat yet grows happily in a container. Distinctive threads edge the foliage. A conservatory plant.

Cycas revoluta, one of the most primitive living plants, are very unusual and popular ornamentals. A rugged trunk, topped with whorled feathery leaves has lead to the common name ''Sago Palm'', however it is actually related to conifer and Gingko trees - all cone bearing plants which trace their origins back to the ancient flora of the early Mesozoic era.
